Did you know that today is Beetroot Day?! Seems like everyone is busy with Black Friday... Meanwhile, we're putting beets in the spotlight because it's a local vegetable, super healthy, and pairs perfectly with our A'la Tuna! "Beetroot tartare" with avocado and A'la Tuna in oil? Why not!

Ingredients

Ingredients for 2 servings:

A’la Tuna in Oil 1 can
cooked / roasted beetroot 1 medium
ripe avocado; large 1 piece
salt and pepper to taste
lemon juice 1 teaspoon
red onion - optional  1/4 medium onion
alfalfa and pea sprouts as desired

How to prepare

  1. Chop the beetroot into small cubes. Season with salt, pepper, and half of the lemon juice.
  2. Similarly, dice the avocado into small cubes and lightly mash it to make it stick together. Add salt, pepper, and the remaining lemon juice. Optionally, add chopped onion and mix well.
  3. Open the can of A'la Tuna in oil.
  4. Grease a ring mold with oil. Place avocado at the bottom, followed by diced beetroot. Gently press down and remove the ring mold.
  5. Top the "tatar" with A'la tuna and sprouts.
  6. Ready to serve! <3
