Spaghetti A'la Tuna with Olives

Who doesn't love pasta? I don't see any hands up ;) Spaghetti with our A'la Tuna in oil, accompanied by sun-dried tomatoes, garlic, Kalamata olives, and chili. Slightly spicy, full of umami, and the goodness of our Jack!

Ingredients

A'la Tuna in Oil 1 can
white onion 1 medium
garlic cloves 3 cloves
red chilli pepper 1/3 piece
sun-dried tomatoes 4-5 pieces
olive oil 20ml
caper water 30ml
kalamata olives 10 pieces
optional: nutritional yeast flakes a pinch
salt and pepper to taste
whole grain spaghetti  200g dry

How to prepare

  1. Prepare a pot of water for cooking the pasta. Season with salt.
  2. Finely chop the onion. Press the garlic through a garlic press. Remove the seeds from the chili and finely chop 1/3 of the pepper into strips.
  3. Measure out the olive oil and caper water.
  4. Pat dry the sun-dried tomatoes and chop them into strips. Set aside 2 tablespoons of olive oil from the tomatoes.
  5. Halve the Kalamata olives. Open the A'la Tuna in oil and set aside.
  6. Add the pasta to the boiling water and cook for 6-7 minutes until al dente. Before draining, reserve 100ml of pasta water.
  7. Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a pan. Sauté the onion and garlic seasoned with salt. After 2-3 minutes, add the chili and sauté for 1 minute.
  8. To the onion, garlic, and chili, add the entire can of A'la Tuna. Sauté for 3 minutes. Add the drained pasta and pour in the reserved pasta water, olive oil from the sun-dried tomatoes, and caper water.
  9. Sauté and stir for a few minutes until everything is combined, and the pasta is cooked through. Stir in the sun-dried tomatoes and olives. Season with salt and pepper.
  10. Serve with parsley and optionally with nutritional yeast flakes / Parmesan cheese :)
